Joseph Mik – NECG Affiliate

Based in Frankfurt, Germany, Joseph Mik has 15 years of infrastructure experience from across Europe, Africa and Asia. In the power sector he has served as an adviser to donors, public utilities, governments and engineering firms. Generation projects include hydro, thermal, solar, wind, biomass, hydrogen fuel cells and batteries.

From 2011 to 2015, he worked for IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, based in Kazakhstan.

From 2005 to 2008, he worked in the London office of Macquarie Bank.

Joseph has advised donors, governments, public utilities and engineering firms on over 40 infrastructure projects over the past 5 years. About 80% have been in the power sector, with the balance in transport and water. These include both sovereign financed projects and Public Private Partnerships (PPPs).  His responsibilities included financial and economic modelling, strategic planning, deal screening, legal analysis, drafting legislation, negotiating contracts and procurement, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and capacity building (training) of public sector personnel.
